Pen To Right History
While cannabis is now legalized, thousands of people remain behind bars in the U.S. due to non-violent cannabis-related charges. With one signature–and one pen–the president can send them home.
THE PARDON
On June 17, 2024, Governor Wes Moore of Maryland signed a historic pardon using "The Pen to Right History." Before signing the pardon, Shiloh Jordan, a Maryland constituent who was receiving a pardon that day, used the pen to write a letter of advocacy. Shiloh then handed the pen directly to Governor Moore, who proceeded to pardon 175,000 Marylanders.
THE PEN & THE LETTERS
We put the pen in the hands of the family and friends of those who are still experiencing cannabis injustice and asked them to write advocacy letters for their loved ones. These are just a few.
